stretching! stretching is something some people hate and some people love. If you are a dancer you should stretch 30 minutes or more a day to gain a lot of flexibility. However if you over-stretch your muscles will be very sore and they will hurt for a couple of days, but once you get used to stretching you won't feel much pain afterwords as you would starting out.
In some ways dancing is like acting. You are playing a part, and you need to act as the character in the dance. Some ways to help you practice are... pretend the story of the dance is happening to you so how would you feel? Great ways to express yourself is in movement and facial expressions. So when you are dancing try to look sad or happy (depending on the character)
